This is most definitely a 5* book!
I love Allie’s books already, but this one took the cake for me!
Honestly, Allie pulled me in with the dedication. You know it’s going to be an amazing book when the dedication is “For the girls and women who deserve better.”
This book was by far one of my favorites. It sucks you in from page one where we discover that sometimes, small towns aren’t always so safe.
When we meet Josh, he’s an angry teenager that seems to have a serious attitude problem… well wait, that wasn’t what I was expecting… hmm..
So then shortly after we meet present day Josh, and he is DEFINITELY what I was expecting! He’s strong, he’s a firefighter, he’s an MMA fighter, and he’s amazingly sexy! (Now we’re getting somewhere. 😉 )
This book is written in two points of view, Sophie’s and Josh’s.
Sophie is a single mother to an adorable little three-year-old named Charlie. Charlie is her world. When Josh offers her an amazing opportunity to work for him, plus adds an amazing bet on top, she can’t help but think about what it could mean for both her and Charlie.
Throughout their time working together, some serious sparks definitely fly! The question is, will anything come of it, or will Sophie be standoff-ish due to Charlie? Will she put herself out there? Or keep her emotions locked up for fear of being hurt.
I loved this book more than words can express! Allie made all of the characters jump off the page at you and you couldn’t help but love them all… or hate one in particular. When an author has the ability to manipulate your emotions, they have an extreme talent that very few do not. Allie has this talent. I cried, I laughed, and I even got a little worked up in more ways than one.
Allie, you wrote an amazing story and Josh has become my new favorite of the North boys. I can’t wait to read more about the Brothers of Ink and Steel! <3
