Guest Post: Til Death Do Us Part by T. Michelle Nelson

Hey all,  it's my pleasure to welcome T. Michelle Nelson back to the blog with her second book in the Lily Drake series, Til' Death Do Us Part! Today she is talking to us about where she gets her inspiration.

Inspiration should be a four-letter word.  At least when you don’t have it.  Sometimes I just simply don’t feel like writing.  Some of these times I can sit down and force myself to get started and it comes along, other times it ends in me watching Netflix and completely ignoring the fact I have a half-done manuscript.

I honestly love to write, but at times, just like with any job, you simply don’t want to do it. Most people will tell you if you don’t fell like doing your job, too bad. Get in there and get it done.  I don’t agree with this idea, at least when it comes to being an author.  If you aren’t excited about the story you’re telling, take a break, find that inspiration and come back later.  I don’t know about other authors, but my writing shows it if it’s forced.

So where do you find this inspiration, you ask?  All around.  I have the most hilarious son and group of friends on the planet.  Many times I’m doing my best to recall a conversation that took place with someone so that I can fit it into my manuscript’s dialogue.  For example, the other night my friend, Becki, said something so funny I know I have to include it in a book somewhere.  Be watching for a scene with bad karaoke singers…

Word of warning, hanging out with me usually results in being written into a story. My friends will most assuredly find characters with similar traits to them and eerily similar situations.

About The Book

coverWith a doting husband and a new job training a vampire military, Lily Drake was living up to the prophecies of being the best.  Her life was seemingly perfect, until tragedy strikes bringing her a loss she's not sure she can endure.

The hard-working super mom / vampire slayer, Lily Drake, has just learned problems still exist even after you become immortal.

As everyone knows, even if you find the perfect guy, you don't always get a happily-ever-after.  Lily may have found temporary happiness being a newlywed, but the honeymoon is over.  When she finds her husband going out for late night bites with another woman, Lily has to fight to try and regain what she wants most, love and a happy family.

If Lily thought being a single mom was hard, she’ll find being married can be a bloody mess.

About the Author

T. Michelle Nelson became enamored with vampires at an early age when she watched George Hamilton in “Love at First Bite.” As she got older, her tastes leaned more toward the dark and morose, but her love of all things vampire never wavered. Little has changed in her thirty-something years, except now T. makes up her own macabre stories of the undead… mixed of course with a splash of romance, tough heroines and tons of dark humor.

T. Michelle Nelson is a native of Benton, Kentucky and a graduate of Murray State University holding a degree in Education. Currently she resides in picturesque Mount Vernon, Ohio, which is also the setting of her Lily Drake series. The first book in the series, Life and Death of Lily Drake, is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Kobo, and your other favorite online bookstores in paperback as well as e-reader formats. The second book, 'Til Death Do Us Part, is being released by Inkspell Publishing in April of 2013 and currently, T. is working hard to finish her third book.

When she isn’t writing, you can usually find her singing out of key while playing Rock Band with her husband and son, watching B-Horror movies or wrestling with her two ill-behaved fur babies, Buddy Perro and Bunchie.
