I haven’t done much with my site in a while. Truth be told I’ve been concentrating on writing. The end of last year was a rough one. I lost my aunt after a long battle against many illnesses she was facing, so I did what I do best in dealing with that. Backed away a bit from other things, withdrew, and spent more time with family and friends. I don’t think I wrote much at all from September to December. Sometimes you just need to recharge.
Now though, I’m at a point where I feel ready to get my head back in the game. I finished The Possess Saga, which for me was a big accomplishment. I also started my new series, Love & Ink and am currently working on the second in that series, and let me tell you, it’s challenging me. But I think a challenge is good.
I also met some amazing people in the last six months that have become near and dear to me. I think sometimes life does really suck, but for everything that gets taken away from you, for everything you lose, you learn something, you sometimes connect with others and find your family growing again when you least expect it. In the last six months, I’ve learned that. I haven’t had to deal with this kind of a loss in a long time. It’s been over 10 years since I lost my grandparents and my father. I didn’t realize what a huge toll losing my aunt would take on me but it did.
As I sit outside her house right now, writing this, I still miss her and so many times I just wish I could pick up the phone and talk to her. But I have some awesome people in my life now. Both ones that have been there with me through this, and ones I’ve met during and that fills me with a lot of happiness. So yeah, I guess you could say this is my official, “Hey guys, I’m back” and look forward to a lot more things coming your way.
If you haven’t looked around the site you should check it out, as I did a complete re-haul on it. I felt it was appropriate. I have a lot of things planned, and am working hard to push myself forward. So, out with the old, in with the new. Time to start over and face the challenges ahead.
