Seek the truth and you will find justice.
The peaceful town of Harmony Falls, Texas, has been rocked to its core by an unspeakable crime.
One that harbors revenge and injustice.
Schoolteacher Olivia Bradshaw can’t remember what happened that horrific night, but it’s easy to see the effect it’s had on those around her. All she wants is for peace to be restored to her beloved hometown, but Deputy Grayson Taylor is on a different mission. He seeks truth and justice, and he’ll do whatever it takes to find both for Olivia.
Lines will be crossed.
Can justice prevail, or will the citizens of Harmony Falls succumb to the corruption and hate that continues to plague their small town?
K.C. Lynn and K. Langston have teamed up to bring you a story about hate, race, corruption, injustice, and above all, love. A story that may change the way you view the world.
It has taken me a couple weeks to digest this story and see if I can put together a review worthy of the material. K. Langston and KC Lynn have written a story that pushes boundaries, hits touchy subjects, and shows a large amount of right and wrong in the world. This book is one that will make you reevaluate your life and your decisions.
Harmony Falls is a small town in Texas. As with most small towns, just about everybody knows everybody else. When a tragic situation occurs on school teacher Olivia Bradshaw’s property, everyone in the town knows about it within days. Soon after, the tragedy causes outrage in the small town, and things don’t seem to be getting any better.
Grayson Taylor is a deputy at Harmony Falls. He has lived by one motto his entire life:
“Seek the truth and you will find justice”
When animosity in the small town he loves becomes too much and causes a heinous crime to be committed, Grayson is determined to bring the criminals to justice if it’s the last thing he does.
Grayson and Olivia are one of my all-time favorite book couples. They are everything that is sweet and right in the world and they are the relationship every little girl dreams of. He is the protector that can’t imagine a day without her. She is the sweetheart that tries to see only the good in people and sees it in abundance in him. Their relationship grows in the face of adversity and hate. They find safety and peace in each other while a war rages around them. They are the love of a century.
I was incredibly thankful for the relationship between Liv and Grayson because without it, my heart would have hurt throughout the entire story. As I mentioned, this story tackles some hard-hitting topics. And these amazing ladies didn’t pull any punches or hold anything back. They jumped in with both feet and picked you up and put you right in the middle of the Harmony Falls war zone.
This story made me cry more times than I can count. There were laughs and smiles as well. And it continued to shock me the further I read. This book had it all.
Funny moments that included statements like “hold my earrings!”
Sad moments “Seeing everyone hurt so much for me is almost as painful as the wounds I bear.”
Monumental moments: “I choose love, not hate.”
And finally, moments filled with love: “He softly trails his mouth over every mark I bear, erasing the hate with love.”
I honestly don’t know that I will read another story that will impact me as much as this one has. It is a story of truth, justice, and above all, love.
I believe this is a story for the masses. Everyone needs to read this and realize that maybe we don’t see the world the way we should. Maybe we need to start choosing love, not hate.
K. Langston and KC Lynn, you ladies are amazing. You are inspiring. And you have created a story that will continue to live on through readers for many years to come. Thank you for being brave enough to write a story that will impact so many.
His gaze softens as he cups the side of my neck. “Jesus, you should never feel insecure. You’re fucking beautiful, Liv, bruises or not. Nothing in the world could ever change that.”
I watch him carefully, his sincerity tearing through my defenses. “You really mean that, don’t you?”
He rears back, the skin between his brows bunching together in deep valleys of confusion. “Of course I do. How could you not know that?”
I shrug. “I don’t know. I guess it’s…” I pause for a moment before deciding to bare it all. “It’s hard for me to believe you still think I’m beautiful despite finding me the way you did.”
Understanding dawns and he quickly shakes his head. “No, not ever. That didn’t change the way I look at you. Yes, it fucking gutted me to see you that way, but not once did I think any less of you.” He pulls me closer while his determined gaze bores into mine. His jaw flexes, the rhythm of his chest growing heavier. “It should have never happened. Nothing so hateful should have ever touched something so beautiful. But make no mistake, Liv, when I look at you, I don’t see the girl I found that day, I see the girl who survived it all. You’re fucking beautiful, inside and out, nothing or no one will ever change that.”
My breath hitches as tears blur my eyes, his words healing my wounded soul. “You make me feel beautiful,” I choke out softly.
“Good, baby, because you are, every inch of you, and don’t ever fucking forget it.” He closes the small space between our mouths, his lips claiming mine in a heated caress as his tongue sweeps in.
